WannaCry Ransomware (Cyber attack). How to prevent it.

The biggest ever flaw in cyber security. The wannacry Ransomware affected the Britain's NHS (national health service) and some big companies in Spain, as well as computers in more than 150 countries including US, Russia and India. It locked data and demand ransom.

48,000 Ransomware attacks seen in India.

According to Quick Heal Tech 48,000 Ransomware attack seen in India. 60% of attacks by Wannacry. The antivirus maker company claimed it successfully detected Ransomware attack and cleaned malicious file responsible for the file encryption.

Taking it seriously the RBI asks bank to update ATM software system

How did the attack spread globally.

It uses vulnerability of windows system which was first identity by the US NSA (national security agency) and leaked by hackers. It blocks the access by encrypting its content and then it demands Dollors to decrypt files.

It was first spotted at 9:45 am on 12th may by MalwareHunterTeam

How much ransom is demanded?

Victims of this attack were asked to pay $300 in the form of bit coin. The deadline of the ransom is three days after this the price is doubled. If payment is not made within these 7 days the files will be deleted, according to message displayed on screen.

How to prevent Ransomware. 

• Keep your system up to date.
• Do not open any unknown email attachments.
• Install good firewall and antivirus  and keep up to date. 
• Backup your data. 

•  Shiw hidden file extensions.

•  Filter EXCs in emails.
• Disconnect network when suspicious file is found.

New Whatsapp updates, Pin Your Contacts

WhatsApp recently gave an update to the beta testers. Which will soon be available for the users. Very interestingly WhatsApp added the feature called Pin your Contact. You can now be able to put your Contacts top of your chats. Which is very useful for the people who don't have time to go through the WhatsApp. File attachment button moved to the bottom of the chat.

• You can now pin your favorite contact to the top of your chats.
• You can once again set text-only update in your profile and it's called About. Tap settings and then your profile name to edit it. 

•  Search for the perfect animated GIF right from WhatsApp. Tap the emoji button in a chat and then tap GIF at the bottom of the emoji panel to get started.

New Google Maps Updates, find your car in parking lot

Google maps has always been traveler's friend and now it is getting more realistic. You can now find your car in parking lot. Its latest update  will include an option to save your parking location, it works with Bluetooth of your car to find where you have parked.
It will have some other interesting features too. Which will soon be available on playstore for real users, where you can check facts on the maps like about restaurant, colleges and many places. You will also be able to share your location. 

Google leaves no stone unturned in providing an interactieve and personalized experience. Google CEO Sundar Pichai hinted that there may be a plan for tge monetization of Google maps in near future.
